The 17th Asian Horological
Trade and Industry Promotion Conference organized by
the China Horologe Association is to be held in Chongqing,
China from October 17th to October 19th, 2008.
The Asian Horological Trade and Industry Promotion Conference,
which started in 1971, is an international conference
established for the purpose of promoting exchange of
views and information among those involved in the horological
industry (manufacturers, wholesalers, importers and
retailers) in the Asian region. For the past 37 years,
the Asian Horological Trade and Industry Promotion Conference
was held by turns of seven Founding/Principal Associations
every two years, and China Horologe Association hosted
the 10th AHTIPC in September 1994 in Beijing. There
were 289 participants from ten countries and regions
present at the Conference. This is the second time for
China Horologe Association to be honored to host the
Conference since the first one 14 years ago. On behalf
of China Horologe Association and the People's Municipal
Government of Chongqing, I cordially invite all parties
concerned to join in this historic and significant event
for development and flourish of the industry.
Nowadays, the world is focusing on environmental protection
and trade distribution, which poses an immense impact
on the development of Asian horologe industry. The theme
of the conference, therefore, is Environmental
Protection 
Development Trend of Marketing Approach. We
sincerely hope that the conference will provide a platform
for participants to exchange views and information centred
on the theme, and help all participants to advance their
interests and needs.
During the Conference, we will invite you to tour the
beautiful Yangtse River in Chongqing and the night view
of Jialing River, as well as to enjoy the welcome dinner
with the performance in Sichuan culture.
